How It Works

Aquarium volume is calculated from inner dimensions. For rectangular tanks: Length x Width x Height / 231 = gallons. One gallon of water weighs 8.34 lbs, so a filled 55-gallon tank weighs over 450 lbs before adding substrate and decorations. Always place aquariums on a sturdy, level stand rated for the weight.
